Media.UP https://mediaup.uni-potsdam.de/ Media.UP en-us Gaze Trajectories During scene viewing, the eye performs a series of fast gaze shifts (saccades), with an average rate of 3-4 per second. Visual information processing is limited to eye fixations, when the eye is nearly motionsless. However, even during fixations, the eye performs miniature eye movements that enhance perception. The video presents animations based on human data from high-resolution eye tracking. Part I presents the real-time input received by the center of the visual field (the fovea), where high-acuity vision is performed. Part II shows the gaze trajectory. Part III compares foveal input and gaze trajectory. For scientific background information see Engbert et al.
